I teach across 3 levels and my students’ ages range from 10 to 24yrs in classes of between 95 and 130 students. I am also an active member of the Cameroon English Language Teachers’ Association (CAMELTA) and Africa ELTA. In March 2020,I was appointed Moderator of the CAMELTA WhatsApp Professional Development group in recognition of the impact of my free WhatsApp grammar lessons shared nationwide in the early days of the pandemic. Some of these lessons are available on my YouTube Channel (Abigail Ekangouo - YouTube). Since then, I have moderated PD sessions led by over 250 teachers and teacher      trainers and in December 2020, I organized the first edition of the CAMELTA Awards ceremony online to recognize the contributions of outstanding teachers and trainers who supported their colleagues and students during the first year of the pandemic. I am currently working on the third edition of the  Award with a team of volunteer colleagues. As former Deputy Membership  Coordinator of Africa ELTA, I have been part of the WhatsApp groups of other Tas in the continent and have not only encouraged teachers to register and belong to Africa ELTA but have also given a series of professional development presentations to helpcolleagues around the continent update their skills. In 2020,  was selected to be part of the Africa ELTA and Equal Voices in ELT leadership training, in recognition of my contribution to the empowerment of female colleagues on the continent. As a result of my professional, leadership and networking roles within these two organizations, I was lucky to be selected to present myexperiences of teaching remotely via WhatsApp at the 2020 IATEFLWorld Teachers’ Day Virtual Conference “Leading in crisis, reimagining the future” on the topic “Navigating Language learning through WhatsApp during the lockdown: an experience from Cameroon”I have also presented in the past Africa ELTA conference and written three articles in the Africa ELTA Newsletter.Last year, I won two awards from Camelta award best CPD  and best outstanding female professional.I also took part in a one week intensive training program in instructional technology which added to  the skills I had and I can now train other colleagues.      So far, I have been able to develop my own skills and experiencesas well as those of my colleagues through collaborating with myown students and with colleagues in Cameroon and across Africa. I      believe that as a teacher of a global language such as English, my knowledge and understanding of the global dimensions of English and ELT can permit me to help others teachers in my context in acquiring tech skills.
